AC Fireset

The AC powered fireset operates from standard 60 Hz, 120 VAC line power; the eight (8) Joule fireset provides the capability to initiate detonators from a maximum cable length of 100”.  The AC Fireset provides long operating life in excess of 50,000 operations before degradation occurs.  This fireset operation uses a key switch to “ARM” the unit and a “FIRE” switch to charge the high voltage for detonator initiation.  The AC Fireset implements a single shot operation, such that after the firing pulse occurs the fireset is locked out.  Recycling the “ARM” switch resets the fireset for another operation.

Battery Operated Fireset

The Battery Operated Fireset is self contained, powered by four (4) “C” cell batteries and is housed in a watertight Pelican™ case.  The eight (8) Joule fireset provides the capability to initiate detonators from a maximum cable length of 100”.  This fireset provides long operating life in excess of 50,000 operations before degradation occurs.  This high efficiency system provides approximately 100 operations from a single set of batteries depending upon environmental conditions.  Prior to high voltage charging, a battery check is conducted to determine if the power pack has sufficient energy for high voltage charging.  The Battery Operated Fireset implements a single shot operation so that after the firing pulse occurs, the fireset is locked out.  Recycling the “ARM” switch resets the system for another operation.


 


Low Cost Fireset

The low cost fireset provides a limited number of operations for the initiations of EBW’s and EFI’s.  The fireset is sealed and will withstand submersion to greater than 3 meters for extended periods of time.  The Low Cost Fireset is operational over the temperature range of -25°C to 125°C in high humidity conditions.
This unit is simple to operate with low voltage input connections for the battery.  The high voltage output is denoted by the yellow binding posts for ease of identification.  The output is isolated from the input leads; therefore, output polarity is unimportant for detonator connection.
